Raw edge, funky and fun.

This quilt is not for the traditionalists. It is all raw edge and won’t wash well at all. It is a great exercise in using colour and for experimenting with embellishment. Designed to have a bit of fun with, there is no firm way to construct it. I used black and white fat eighths cut into strips. I have also done another version with blue fabrics as a background and yellow flowers appliquéd over the top. You can make the blocks as the focus or you can appliqué and embellish, depending on the finish you are after. This is a great way to use those slithers of fabric that you cut away and even selvedges.
